What is Psoriasis?
It is a chronic, non-contagious, inflammatory, recurrent, proliferative epidermal disease characterized by thick plaques with silvery white scales with pus-filled blisters causing pain. The clinical appearance of psoriasis can be cosmetically disfiguring, and the disease can be physically and emotionally debilitating especially in severe patients. The greatest incidence is between 20 and 30 years of age, and a smaller peak occurs between 50 and 60 years of age.

Management
- Avoiding friction and rubbing the area
- Minimize alcohol intake if consumed
- Minimize smoking habit
- Avoid skin injury
- Moisturize the skin up to 4 times per day
Treatment
Apply betamethasone cream on the area in the morning and evening for 2 weeks.
