What is Contact Dermatitis?

Contact Dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin resulting from direct contact of a product with the surface of the scalp known as irritant dermatitis or due to a substance sensitivity that triggers the immune response in your skin known as allergic dermatitis.

Cause

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Certain shampoo or hair product
  • Permanent hair treatments

Management

  • Avoid the product that caused this reaction
  • Moisturize frequently

Treatment

Apply mometasone cream in the morning and evening for 2 weeks

Please consult a doctor in case the condition is very severe or relapse for a prescription of oral corticosteroids.
