What is Contact Dermatitis?

Contact Dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin resulting from direct contact of a product with the body. It is characterized by a localized area of vesicles or papules accompanied by itching and burning of the skin.

Cause

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Prolonged exposure to water
  • Chemical agents or product sensitivity
  • Juices of vegetables and fruits
  • Latex allergy

Management

  • Avoid the product that caused this reaction
  • Moisturize frequently

Treatment

Apply mometasone cream in the morning and evening for 2 weeks

Please consult a doctor in case the condition is very severe or relapse for a prescription of oral corticosteroids.
